Also, you will visit the Egyptian Museum to explore and discover ancient artifacts. And at the end of the day, you will visit the Valley Temple.

The Great Pyramids of Giza
The pyramids were constructed to present the Pharaoh's connection with the gods and link to the stars. These structures served as tombs for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure following their passing. The first and biggest pyramid is Khufu's, generally called the Pyramid of Cheops. The second largest pyramid is Khafre, and the pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest of the three.

The Sphinx
The Sphinx is a famous statue that displays a lion's body and a human's head. It was built during the reign of the Pharaoh Khafre. The design of the Sphinx is a reflection of ancient Egypt's religious and political beliefs. The lion's body stands for strength and power, while the human head reflects wisdom and intelligence.

The Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is a significant and extensive institution. It contains a massive collection of Pharaonic antiques, artifacts, and treasures. The museum's treasures include the belongings of King Tutankhamun, such as his solid gold death mask and gilded wooden throne. Visitors can also explore the Royal Mummy Room and the Amarna Room, which contain artifacts from the reign of Akhenaten and Nefertiti.

The valley temple
First, the body of the Pharaoh was mummified at the Valley Temple and then transported to the pyramid. The temple was created as a space for ceremonies and rituals, and it's thought that after the Pharaoh's death, their body would be taken here for the embalming procedure.

Day 3: Alexandria City Tour

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven in an A/C vehicle to Alexandria, where you will visit the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa. You will also see the Qaitbay Citadel, a 15th-century fortress built on the site of the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria. Also, you will explore Pompey's Pillar and Alexandria Library.

The Kom el Shoqafa Catacombs
The Kom el Shoqafa Catacombs date back to the 2nd century AD, during the Roman era. Comprising three underground levels, the site is linked by a spiral staircase. The first level includes a spacious hall with columns and a central tomb thought to have been used for funeral feasts. The second level boasts numerous burial chambers and niches for interring the dead. Finally, the third level houses a chapel adorned with a carved relief of Serapis, a god worshipped in ancient Egypt, and other religious figures.

The Qaitbay Citadel
Built-in the 15th century by the Mamluk Sultan Qaitbay, it served as a protective fortress to safeguard the city of Alexandria against foreign invaders. The citadel is constructed of limestone and boasts a typical Islamic military architecture style, featuring towering walls, towers, and a moat. Additionally, the site houses a mosque that is still being used presently and a naval museum that showcases a collection of artifacts connected to Alexandria's naval history.

Pompey's Pillar
Pompey's Pillar is a towering column that reaches over 25 meters in height and is constructed from red Aswan granite. It was upstanding in the late 4th century AD to pay honor to the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Those who visit Pompey's Pillar can ascend a staircase to the top of the column and savor breathtaking panoramic views of the nearby vicinity.

The modern Alexandria Library
The modern Alexandria Library was built in Egypt to honor the ancient Library of Alexandria. With over 6 million books, manuscripts, and rare artifacts, it covers many topics and is constantly updated.
